St. Patrick's Day festivities
47th annual parade
* When and where: Steps off at 10 a.m. today, expected to last until 1:30 or 2 p.m., in lower downtown near and around Coors Field
* What to expect: More than 200 entries with step dancers, floats, clowns, pipe bands and more. Last year, organizers estimated more than 200,000 people lined the route, so pick a spot early.

St. Patrick's Day Serpent Festival
* When and where: 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. today and Sunday at the Denver Zoo, 2300 Steele St.
* What to expect: Because St. Patrick reportedly drove all the snakes out of Ireland, the Denver Zoo marks the occasion by teaching kids about the scaly creatures. Festival admission is included with regular admission.

The Official Green Party 2008
* When and where: Starts at noon today through Monday, Fado Irish Pub, 1735 19th St.
* What to expect: Four days of Irish revelry with an entertainment lineup that includes Under a Blood Red Sky, The Indulgers, The Pipers, the Potcheen Folk Band, Brian Clancy, Bohda, The Railbenders and St. Brendan's Irish Dancers

Fourth annual Capitol Hill Hooley
* When and where: 11 a.m. to close todayand Monday, the Irish Snug, 1201 E. Colfax Ave.
* What to expect: A heated outdoor tent with food, dancing, bar service and an entertainment schedule that includes pipe bands, step dancers and more.

Brass, Bagpipes and Co.
* When and where: 7:30 p.m. today and Monday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Newman Center for the Performing Arts, 2344 E. Iliff Ave.
* What to expect: Fiddlers, Irish dancers and a bunch of bagpipes joining the Denver Brass for a program

Phil Coulter's Irish Pops Orchestra
* When and where: 7 p.m. Sunday, Paramount Theatre, 1621 Glenarm Place
* What to expect: The cream of Ireland's musical crop playing a mix of Coulter's most popular instrumentals, with the sound of Irish pipes and whistles mixed with the orchestra's lush lineup.
