The Democratic National Convention Committee launched on Tuesday pages on its Web site to promote more environmentally friendly activity for the party's nominating convention this summer.

It's part of the DNCC effort to reduce waste during the event, Aug. 25-28.

Through the green pages at demconvention.com, the DNCC hopes to educate the public on choices to reduce impact on the environment.

One tool the Web site will offer is a carbon footprint calculator, allowing people to determine how much energy they're using and how much waste they generate through their activities.

"We aim to lead by example and identify opportunities, such as these Web pages, to help educate the public as well as convention attendees about making more sustainable choices in their own day-to-day activities," said Andrea Robinson, the first director of greening for the DNCC.

Also on Tuesday, the DNCC announced a reception today for local artists who are displaying their artwork at the convention headquarters. The artists include Andy Baird, Jean Brodie, Mark Brodie, Greg Evans, Stacy Lewis, Dave Ryan, Jared Steinberg and Amy Thornton.

Yeah, right. Now that climatologist's world-wide have proclaimed that algore's theories are myths and, the proof in the putting, our coldest the earth has been since 1966 has completely dispelled any thought that global warming is a Republican sponsored threat to any level headed Democrat we need an eco-friendly DNC. What are they all going to do? Walk to Denver? And eat what, Colorado beef, a huge producer, according to algore, of the abundance of methane gases in the atmosphere? Better stock-up on tofu, oh, that doesn't work either. Planting and harvesting soybeans pollutes the atmosphere, also.... We're just plain screwed, and like the song by the Amazing Rythm Aces, "The End Is Not In Sight."
