A DOG OF A DIFFERENT COLOR

$1,000 is the fine a Boulder woman is facing for dyeing her pet poodle pink.

Joy Douglas, owner of the salon Zing, says she has been coloring Cici's coat for three years, using beet juice - and occasionally Kool-Aid. On March 1, however, she was issued a ticket for doing so.

Officials at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley said Douglas was warned several times that she was violating Section 6-1-14 of Boulder's city code, which says "No person shall dye or color live fowl, rabbits or any other animals."

Douglas, who calls Cici a "breast cancer awareness dog," says the pooch "is being stripped of her civic duty, and I don't plan to take it sitting down."

Lisa Pedersen, humane society CEO, says officers received "several calls about the animal" before they wrote the ticket, adding that "we are just doing our job."

Should Douglas be barred from keeping Cici's pink coat, she says she may move her salon. "Cici is photographed all day long," Douglas said. "She's become a Boulder icon."

NOT TAKING SIDES

"I'm kind of staying out of it because Bob is a friend of mine and so is Mark."

Former Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell, who says he's not going to endorse anyone in the expected matchup of former Congressman Bob Schaffer, a Republican, and Rep. Mark Udall, the Democrat, for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Wayne Allard. Describing Schaffer as a "straight shooter" and "man of his word," Campbell also said, "Mark Udall is the kind of guy who can vote against you 10 times and you still like him."

If the quote here of the law is accurate then it would be illegal to dye human hair since humans, for the most part, qualify as "animals" in the technical sense. Should all hair coloring for humans then be illegal?

I guess in The Peoples Republic of Boulder , everything is perfect and they have no more pressing issues except sex offenders running around snatching kids, kids and college students drinking themselves to death, crazy far-left wing anti-American people teaching ,racism against people who are not white, protecting parents who murder their children, fly sex offenders in 1st class on the public's dime who claim to be the killer of Jon Benet,a ineffective D.A.,an ineffective police force and they stay very busy being the laughingstock of Colorado and around the country.
They seem to take pride in the fact that they are constantly looking like imbeciles while they think they are better than everyone else.Carry on.

Oh, I'm so happy - Boulder is now the laughingstock of the nation, replacing the People's Republic of San Francisco!
