Shyanne Robinson, the assistant to the Director of the Democratic National Convention Committee Housing, participates in a community service project at Manual High School with Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, members of the DNC's Executive Committee, and Convention CEO Leah D. Daughtry last January. In a project coordinated by the Colorado branch of Volunteers of America, the DNCC team paints and plasters a room at Manual.
As one of Denver's oldest schools, Manual first opened its doors in the 1890s. After a closure due to declining enrollment and low student performance, Manual re-opened last fall.

How refreshing & wonderful to see the Volunteer spirit at it's best! Shyanne, you are wonderful!
This article made me remember that the DNC is about people caring about things bigger than themselves. About a strong sense of making the American dream a part of all of our lives. Of the community all Americans belong to.
It brings to mind a project I'm working on. Please go have a read of the 9380 signitures & comments of everyone from all over the 50 states. It is truly heartwarming!
If you are as inspired as I am, please sign & help the folks who need us all.
