The Avalanche on Monday announced it has signed John-Michael Liles to a new four-year contract and Adam Foote to a new two-year deal. Both defensemen would have been eligible for unrestricted free agency Tuesday.
Liles' deal is worth $16.8 million with a $4.2 million salary-cap hit. Foote's cap number is $3 million a year.
Liles, 27, had six goals and 26 assists in 81 games last season. Foote, who will turn 37 on July 10, had one assist and 12 penalty minutes in 12 games with the Avalanche after his Feb. 26 acquisition from Columbus.
