The man accused of trying to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car told police he thought she was 20, according to the arrest affidavit filed by Denver police.
Mohammed Al Hamdani, 39, was charged with enticement of a child, a class 4 felony.
According to the affidavit, a man approached the girl in Bible Park, 6800 E. Yale Ave., last Saturday and asked for her name and address. The girl told police he also asked for her phone number and suggested they "hang out."
Noticing the digital camera that she had been using to take pictures, the man asked her to photograph him, which the girl did. He then asked her to take a photo of him near his car and offered to "give her a ride anywhere that she wanted to go," the affidavit said.
At that point, the girl ran away and told her mother what happened. When police arrived to interview the girl, they discovered she had a photo of Hamdani and quickly made it accessible to the media.
On Tuesday, the manager of the Broadway Motel at 1600 S. Broadway, notified police that a man resembling the photo he had seen on television was staying in Room 5.
When police interviewed Hamdani, he "admitted that he had been at the park and that the victim had taken his photograph," the affidavit said. He also said he had asked for the girl's telephone number and had offered his own to her.
Hamdani told the police that "if the girl had called him he would have met with her," the affidavit said. Asked what age he thought the girl was, Hamdani said "twenty years old." Apprised of her actual age, he said he "would not have talked to her if he had known."
Police arrested Hamdani earlier this spring on a charge of disturbing the peace and making a threat to injure a person. The incident occurred at Porter Adventist Hospital where the charge nurse told police Hamdani threatened to "shoot" her as she was attempting to discharge him.

Big story, but alas, meaningful prosecution is doubtful, for what crime actually occured? Nothing. The sad truth is that he will have to prove he has criminal intent in some other incident before anything can be done. Watch out for your daughters.

I hope he's looking over his shoulder. Betcha 10 to 1 he leaves the state so he can do it again.
I am so frustrated with our legal system. The criminal gets all the protection and the victim gets the shaft.
When people victimize kids I just want to tear them apart. NOTHING IN THIS WORLD MAKES ME ANGRIER THAN THAT.

Mexcellent-I saw the posts. There was nothing violent. American called the guy a son of a (one of those humped animals that spits). Then when he questioned why they deleted him they deleted him again.
Then Dirty Sanchez said something like don't feel bad. Sometimes the delete fairy pops up put of no where. So they delted him too.
This is the RMN after all. DON'T DARE to insult a criminal here.
Criminals are their bread and butter ya know.

America is soo self-righteous; incest has been going on here for three hundred years. Marilyn Vanderbur (former Ms. Colorado) was how old? when she was molested by her rich father. It is wrong, but there are worse things than making a mistake about a woman's (or a girl's) age! Lighten up, Bigots!

Yerrite2no- Huh? Are you saying this is OK?
It's been going on for so long so it's OK?
It scares me to know people approve of this behavior.
Do you really believe he thought an 11 year old was 20?
This isn't incest, which is also gross, this is child rape.
