Colorado is one of 18 states where Sen. Barack Obama plans to unveil his first television commercial of the fall campaign - a one-minute piece called "Country I Love."
The commercial is scheduled to begin airing today.
Obama, the Democratic Party's presumptive presidential nominee, opens the ad by proclaiming America "a country of strong families and strong values."
Mixing in family photographs and shots of him sitting near a window on a sunny day, the spot details Obama's early life - the fact he was raised by a single mother and his grandparents, the way he worked to put himself through college, his job as a community organizer in Chicago. He also talks about welfare reform, tax cuts and health care in sweeping terms, but does not offer specific policies or positions.
Obama ends by telling viewers that the American values that shaped him won't be forgotten.
"I approved this message because I'll never forget those values, and if I have the honor of taking the oath of office as president, it will be with a deep and abiding faith in the country I love."
The commerical's release comes as Obama's wife, Michelle, remains a focus of critics for a statement she made in February that, "for the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country."
The co mmercial also will air in Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Virginia.

Maybe the ad can explain why he has already backed out of a campaign promise to use public federal funds for the general election?
He made (and promptly broke) this promise what?.. Two months ago?
If you don't want to be restricted by using public funds then don't agree to it in the first place!
What ELSE can't we believe from him?

Obama haters,
Are we suppose to vote for someone who wants to just go to war instead of sitting down and talking?
Should we continue to worry about foriegn affairs and neglect our own country?
Are we to assume that the war in Iraq is just and right and that it is good that we have our soldiers there?
The republicans would mostly say yes, yes, yes. However, some of us are ready for a change. We are tired of sending money to foriegn countries while our own people suffer or are deprived. This last 8 years have been devastating to Americans and to our global image. I for one am tired of the same old BS in Washington and would be glad to see "whitey" gone. For those who do not know "whitey" is a catagorization like talking about the "man." This is not intended to have any racial meaning.
I say "viva libertarian" but will settle for Obama and will say no to McCain.

???
Substitute "whitey" with "blackey" and then tell me it doesn't have any racial meaning.
McCain is right - Obama IS running for Carter's second term.

"whitey" is a common term or slang. I have only heard "blackey" used a couple of times and those were racial slurs.

HMMM... Private money only and a new, non-access policy. So he's bought and paid for and you can't ask any questions. Yup, that's his version of change, all right.
