Gambro of Lakewood will be CaridianBCT

Gambro BCT, a Lakewood-based medical device manufacturer, on Wednesday announced it will change its name to CaridianBCT next month.

Gambro BCT makes medical devices that improve blood safety and quality, and employs about 2,300 workers with annual sales of $500 million.

"Under our new name, CaridianBCT will continue to be a pioneer in blood banking and transfusion medicine, developing and commercializing innovation that meets the needs of our customers and the patients they serve," said President and Chief Executive Officer David B. Perez, in a statement.
