Metro-area residents can get a feel for what's coming during the Democratic National Convention at a series of forums scheduled over the next two weeks.
The forums, sponsored by the Denver 2008 Host Committee, are designed to let residents meet with the officials who have planned the convention, which will be held at the Pepsi Center and Invesco Field at Mile High from Aug. 25 to 28.
At each forum, members of the host committee will offer a presentation on the planning and take questions about the convention, at which Illinois Sen. Barack Obama is expected to be nominated as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.
The first forum was held Saturday afternoon. Other forums are scheduled in different parts of town:
* Today: Noon to 2 p.m., Temple Sinai, 3509 S. Glencoe St.
* Tuesday: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Southwest Improvement Council, 1000 S. Lowell Blvd.
* Wednesday: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., North High School, 2960 N. Speer Blvd.
* Aug. 6: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Montview Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia St.
Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Krista Leben at Krista.Leben@ denvergov.org.
