Body found in parking lot near CSU

Fort Collins police have launched a homicide investigation after finding a body in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
Police say the victim had a gunshot wound to the chest when he was found Friday night. Police have not released his name or age but say he is not a current or former Colorado State University student.
The shooting happened southwest of campus in the parking lot of Summit Hall.
Police say the shooting is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community but are asking residents to be extra vigilant and report suspicious activity to police.

Granted, I’m a paranoid person, but does anyone else find the statement by police both conflicting and disturbing?
Isolated incident? If a person is willing to murder once, what would lead me to believe he won’t murder again?
According to police the murderer is no threat to the community, but the police want that same community to watch their backs and report anything suspicious to them. Like a crazed shot-gun toting murderer.
I’m so confused.

What part of the police only show up to write the report and toe tag the body.
The offender is still on the loose and the police want the public to do their job.
Also the cops are only worried if the donut shop owner has a problem.
Another reason to allow law abiding people to carry a weapon.
Whomever has committed this crime has gotten away with it for now.
Sleep lightly they are still out there and one never knows when they will strike again.
