— Sunday night he pulled off a seamless escape from a prison in Florence, jumping into a 2006 silver Toyota Sequoia with his visiting wife and speeding away.

On Thursday morning, he fatally shot his wife and his toddler daughter at their former home near Bennett.

Then he killed himself.

He was Colorado's troubled "Spam King," a computer whiz who made millions only to see his life come crashing down, ending on a quiet basin of prairie.

Dirt roads carve the path to the yellow two-story house where police found the lifeless bodies of Edward Davidson, 35, and his wife and 3-year-old daughter, after responding to a call at 11:15 a.m.

Police cars and media trucks lined the 43000 block of East Arkansas Place by mid-afternoon, when the coroner arrived at the scene.

What a nightmare'

Davidson was found outside the driver's side of the vehicle, his wife by the passenger side.

A handgun lay nearby.

His dead daughter was in the back of the vehicle. A 7-month-old boy was found still strapped in his baby-seat, unharmed.

One of Davidson's bullets grazed the neck of a 14-year-old girl, who neighbors said was Davidson's oldest daughter.

She was able to escape to a neighbor's home, and was conscious enough to tell deputies what had happened before she was transported to a hospital. She was treated and released late Thursday.

"What a nightmare, and such a coward," said U.S. Attorney Troy Eid. "Davidson imposed the death penalty on family members for his own crime."

The U.S. Attorney's Office did not release the names of the wife and child, but records indicate that Davidson was married to Amy Lee Ann Hill, 29.

House sold for nearly $500,000

Davidson was sentenced April 28 to serve 21 months in federal prison for his role in sending hundreds of thousands of unsolicited fraudulent e-mails touting certain penny stocks as excellent investments.

On Sunday, Davidson escaped from a federal prison in Florence, after Hill, of Lakewood, had visited him.

Davidson allegedly jumped into Hill's vehicle after the visit and was last seen in Lakewood after dropping off Hill at her parents' home on South Fig Street. He was last seen in a 2006 silver Toyota Sequoia.

The family did not live at the home where the vehicle was found Thursday, and Arapahoe County Undersheriff Mark Campbell notified the current homeowners, who were at work at the time. The homeowners arrived on the scene with the coroner's office before the bodies were removed.

According to neighbor Wendy Garner, Julie and Roger Cook moved into the home about seven months ago.

Many nearby neighbors did not know the residents of the home and were not aware that anything was amiss until they heard sirens.

Records show that Hill had once owned the home. She sold it last October to the Cooks for nearly $500,000.

BS sorry lefty but contrary to politically correct belief EVERYONE is not a victim. IF this is a murder suicide as suspected, and IF the man killed members of his family and then himself, the only victims are his family. He needed to grow a set and take care of his family! Bad things happen to everyone. real men do not harm their three year old daughter for ANY reason they protect her with their dying breath. IF this plays out as suspected and a man killed his daughter and other members of his family I have no sympathy for him just disgust, and pity for his family.

I think she went to visit him to tell him she was not going to
hang out while he was staying at the Gray Bar Inn. Also, maybe
he had some loot stashed, which she had control of, and he did
not want to lose contact with. This scenario pi$$ed him off and
he made the snap decision to check out of the Gray Bar.
As for them ending up at the wifes previous house. A couple of
possibilities. One; Maybe she/he stashed some loot there, she
just sold it in October, and he went to retrieve, it was gone
and he went off. I think this is the most plausable theory only
because a selfish rat as he likely had his eye on the border
and needed cash to reach the sunset. Second; Maybe all was
lost (21 mos., escape time, 3/4 million in restitution, losing her)
and he took her and the kids there (somewhat remote area) to
    end it all.
I'm not the brightest color in the Crayon box, but that's all I

I liked Chris Rock's idea of selling bullets for $5000 a cartridge. His point was that it would slow down the rate of goof balls with guns killing folks. You'd have to be real serious about wanting someone dead to pay that much for a bullet.

Of course, I'm biased towards the idea because I'd cast my own bullets and load the cartridges. It'd be a real money maker in hard times.

But this case of the spammer butchering his family tells on the character of many wealthy people in America. I'm not talking about anyone who builds a real business from the ground up and offers their employees and customers a square deal.

I'm talking about the kind that don't give a hoot in Hell how they make their money. Spammers are a modern variant on that scum. But they all have a specific common trait. Profits come before people. They don't care who or how many they hurt as long as they're getting theirs. Every executive or director who gets a hefty bonus while eliminating jobs and driving others into poverty is one of these.

Most of them haven't fallen into the pond like that particular Narcissus who murdered his family. Evidently, he believed his ego would survive the death of his body. His co-religionists on the economic tower are smart enough to know better. But they embrace the same me-first-foremost and screw-everyone-else philosophy.

They just don't take it to their own families the way this guy did. Instead, they train their kids to be competent economic predators, too.

And there are plenty of lollipops who will vote for those predators and support their power-grabbing agendas. Little do they know that they look like just another slab of meat to those guys.

Based on what I've heard so far, I don't think that the people in the system would have had any reason to think that this guy had violent tendencies. White collar criminals go to these types of facilities all the time. Few walk away; fewer still commit a violent crime after they escape. Under the circumstances, I doubt that the jailers deserve any blame. (Unless you want to get into the system as a whole. I would agree that punishment is usually way too lenient for white collar criminals.)

The point I was making is that the wife apparently enabled the SPAM KING to be the piece of crap that he was. I suspect she enjoyed the lifestyle when the KING was racking in big bucks and they could afford to live in a $500,000 house. She had to know what he was doing (my wife certainly knows what line of work I’m in and I know hers). She turned a blind eye. She supported and enabled a man who turned out to be, not just a piece of crap, but a monster. I didn’t say that the wife “deserved” to be killed. Okay, not saying that, in this day and age, we can "outlaw" guns. Just look at D.C. (before the handgun ban was lifted; damn activist judges!) to see how banning something simply takes away guns from the people that actually need them.

Still, to the people that think that more guns in the hands of citizens is the answer to crime and violence, I say: look at Mogadishu.

Fact, it's just plain easier to kill people with guns than with a knife, poison, arson, your own two hands, etc. It's simply not true that one who does not own a gun will find a way to kill you anyways. I'm pretty sure I'm better at dodging knife thrusts than I am at dodging bullets.

Agreed, ssqured. Artstarzz is a real piece of work. His logic as to why I have a gun when I should have just "Bruce Leroyed" him? Er, because I have 2 hands and I can't hold on to both of them while dodging potential bullets from the 3rd? Because my girlfriend was there and I have no idea who else is coming out of the house next door. Artstarzz, when you are done mowing your parents lawn or whatever it is you're doing, please come back on line. These intellectual conversations of yours are so motivating and fabulous. Oh, hello again, Heidi. Glad to see you're back. I have till 2pm before my next class starts so I have some free time.

have been nearly positive she wasn't any part of an escape plan.
Very hard to imagine mom would take the kids along during an

The latest RMN story states he "walked with her to the car ..." .
Don't the feds realize inmates dream of being on the outside and,
if you make it easy for them, they'll be in the wind? Given the fact

    they explain this one away.

I'm still here, Heidi. I'm going through the RMN Bronco forum and such, so I come back to this, periodically. Also, looking at my emails and what not. Hey, mymilehi, glad you're back. Hope I didn't come off too harsh? I just call it as I see it. Doesn't mean much on a blog/forum, anyways. So, where is artstarzz? I think we sent the poor kid into therapy? Not much time left for me to chat. About 1/2 hour. Wish all you Denverites the best. Especially you, Heidi, ha, ha. Hope you all have a great weekend. I'm in Vegas, baby, so I can't help but to have fun. The city that never sleeps. What a great place this is. As a way to end this, I'm praying that God takes this deceased child in his arms and gives her the peace that she deserves, because she didn't get the chance to have a say in it. Davidson, his fate in the afterlife was sealed, long ago.

I live here because I enjoy the night life that Denver doesn't offer. I lived in Colorado Springs for 25 years. I was also stationed at Ft. Carson (10th Special Forces Group, Airborne). I have my parents, out here. My father had a stroke and my mother is 80 so I spend a lot of my time, helping them. None of my other family members will offer to move and help, so I do. It's a great life out here, even with the crime. I own my own home, bought and paid for. I do well here. I'm happy (as long as my next door neighbor stops renting his house to illegal aliens). What about you? What makes Heidi, tick?
