A small plane crashed Wednesday in a field near Vance Brand Airport in Longmont, but no one was hurt.
Longmont police Cmdr. Craig Earhart said two men were on board the four-passenger, single-engine Beechcraft. He also said there was minor nose damage and the plane didn't catch fire.
Earhart said pilot Brian Higley, of Longmont, and passenger Robert Matlacki, of Westminster, made a "controlled crash" just after 10 a.m. after encountering engine trouble.
