If you're a serious oenophile with deep pockets, mark your calendars for the Vail Valley Wine Auction, a tony sip-and-sup affair that includes a five-course wine-pairing dinner created by top chefs from the Vail Valley, Italy and Austria, plus an impressive silent auction that, if you're lucky, might reward your generosity with a VIP culinary trip to Florence or Italy or a Argentinian wine-country expedition. You'll have to spend in order to savor, but the proceeds benefit a slew of Vail Valley charitable organizations.

* Who benefits: The Bright Future Foundation, Colorado Mountain College's Culinary Institute and the Vail and Edwards Rotary Clubs.
