— Prosecutors have dropped an assault charge filed against the son of a Greeley police officer accused of being involved in a bar fight in Red Feather Lakes.

Larimer County District Attorney Larry Abrahamson in a statement Friday said evidence has brought in question Daniel Hulsey's involvement in the fight July 6.

Witnesses told investigators a fight erupted at Potbelly Restaurant and Bar when questions arose about whether one man was attracted to another man. Todd Taylor, Daniel Hulsey's attorney, said the charge being dropped was a step in the right direction.

Greeley was conducting its own investigation into whether Hulsey's father, Sgt. Kell Hulsey, was involved in the fight.

Of course charges are dropped when the pigz and their kin are involved in the altercation.

Great reporting, RMN. Were there any answers regarding the attraction, or are you just going to leave us hanging?
