Scouting report: Pittsburgh Pirates

* Series history: The Pirates lead 65-64, but the Rockies lead 34-26 in Denver, including 29-22 at Coors Field. The Pirates are 10-6 at Coors the past five years, winning the series four times.

* Roster report: Right-hander Matt Capps (right shoulder) and left-hander Phil Dumatrait (left shoulder) are on the disabled list.

* Quickly: The Pirates haven't won more than two straight games since their season-high five-game win streak May 6-10. . . . Pittsburgh's pitchers have a 5.24 ERA, the highest in the majors. The starters are 22-34 with a major league-worst 5.64 ERA. . . . The Pirates are 29-22 at home but 15-28 on the road. They have been outscored 73-42 in the first inning. . . . Nate McLouth, who leads the National League with 33 doubles, is 11-for-36 in his past eight games with five doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs. . . . Xavier Nady has reached base in 21 of his past 22 games and has gone 21-for-60 in his past 15 games. . . . Adam LaRoche, who suffered a right thumb contusion Saturday and didn't play Sunday, has 18 hits in his past 40 at-bats.
