Sen. Barack Obama will have to compete against space aliens for some of the media attention during the Democratic National Convention next month.

Jeff Peckman, who is proposing the creation of an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in the Mile High City, is planning a news conference during the DNC to talk about space aliens and the "technologies that they appear willing to offer," Peckman said.

"Having so many foreign media here I think will be a good lesson for the American media about how seriously this subject can be treated and how serious of a subject it is," he said.

Peckman, who is now targeting the ET initiative for the May 2009 ballot, said he's not trying to extend his 15 minutes of fame.

"I'm well into 30 minutes of fame by now," joked Peckman, who has appeared on such shows as Larry King Live and the Late Show with David Letterman to talk about space aliens.

Peckman said he didn't seek the media attention, but that it found him when the Rocky Mountain News broke the story about his ET initiative.

"Fame has nothing to do with it," he said. "I don't get money doing these interviews, but I get a lot of satisfaction when I see people who have been denied the truth finally given information that reveals the truth."

Even though the ET initiative is on hold, Peckman said he would continue to gather signatures to place it on the ballot.

Peckman said delaying the initiative until next year has been a blessing in disguise.

With the presidential race and so many other initiatives on the ballot, his proposal may not have gotten the attention it deserves, he said.

Also, the delay gives him more time to conduct a voter education campaign, he said.

"The information is so vast," he said.

"We just want to have a more settled environment where people can really absorb it."

Aliens better watch out. If they let the Libs in on their secrets, the Libs will screw-up the whole ET society. Another 15 years from now and we'll have allot of ETs' on welfare.

My goodness he looks semi respectable. I thought he looked like the comic book guy out of The Simpsons.
H L Mencken and P T Barnum were right about the gulability of the American public. Be taken in with a notion with not one conclusive piece of evidence.
The DNC demeans itself further by giving anything to this man and this notion of Aliens.
But on the other hand if Peckman is correct, then we will need an agency like "Men in Black" to handle Aliens...illegal and otherwise.

Oh, they meant "space" aliens. I thought they were going to discuss something important like immigration issues and the real aliens that are a threat to our society and are allready here.

Wow.... he must be in direct communication with them?

How can he know that they are "willing to offer" anything when the only "Evidence" that he has consists of a video of an Alien looking in a window and other "Evidence" that does not even begin to prove the existence of E.T.'s.

How can anyone come to conclusions like this unless they have had some kind of direct contact to know that they are willing to offer anything?

    Thanks,

Shame on The Rocky Mountain News for presenting this crap AS news!

Peckman, if you want to be taken seriously, take on your #1 opposer in this fight. Have a public forum with The Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society and debate with us about your "evidence!" Let the public get both sides of the story. If you are right, you will win.

Wow! This guy is pretending to be "professional, well-meaning and intelligent" ! Just because he wears a suit and cops a power stance are we supposed to believe he has proof of aliens among us? Go ahead. Research him ... this is not his first attempt at "attention grabbing antics". He has attempted to get other wacked ideas passed that do not even have anything to do with aliens. Peckman is nothing but a opportunistic coat-tailer. Steven Greer and his zero point energy crusade is Peckman's green-eyed demon. We have researched Peckman, Greer and Romanek with all their little side projects. Do I believe in the existence of aliens? I suspend judgement: the universe is a big place. What I do not believe is that the "proof" that Peckman is presenting -- the Stan Romanek window alien video -- is proof of anything. I have seen the actual video at a prior lecture of Stan's. You think the re-inactment produced by Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society is an obvious fake (as was their deliberate intention -- hence the word "re-inactment") wait until you see the Romanek video! It makes the re-inactment look like a Steven Spielburg production! A public discussion is warranted here. Mr. Peckman, you want to be in the public lime-light only associating with those who agree with you and complain that the skeptics "ask legitimate questions" as you stated on Larry King, but you have not provided any legitimate answers. Take on Rocky Mountain Paranormal. If you have the truth -- you have nothing to fear.
