HOT TICKETS: Music is starting to fill the Ellie

The Ellie Caulkins Opera House is starting to see more music, including an Aug. 13 show with Jesse McCartney and Jordin Sparks. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today ($39.50 to $49.50; Ticketmaster).
* Fiddler's Green: Poison, Dokken and Sebastian Bach are there Sept. 6, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($20, $34.50, $49.50 and $74.50; Ticketmaster).
* Red Rocks: Reykjavik rockers Sigur Rus headline Sept. 27, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($34.50 and $39.50; Ticketmaster).
* Paramount Theatre: Comedian Chelsea Handler comes to town Oct. 18, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($35; TicketHorse).
* Ogden Theatre: Rapper Ice Cube makes a rare solo appearance Sept. 7, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($39.50; Ticketmaster).
* Fillmore Auditorium: Bullet for My Valentine plays Sept. 22, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. today. Also at the Fillmore is Xavier Rudd, Sept. 26, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. today (both shows $25; Ticketmaster).
RUMORS AND HEARSAY: Local Bruce Springsteen fans, who never say die, are looking at the short break he's taking in August that happens to perfectly coincide with the Democratic National Convention. The famous U2 Under a Blood Red Sky Red Rocks concert DVD was scheduled for re-release this month, but is now pushed back to September. Expect a deluxe treatment. Watch for Luis Miguel at the Broomfield Events Center.
