The campaign to put a measure on the November ballot to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver is being put on hold.

"We're targeting the 2009 ballot," said Jeff Peckman, 54, who's been backing the initiative.

He said once the signatures have been gathered, an intensive public education campaign on the subject will be launched.

"We want to go deeply into this topic," he said.

Peckman made his comments as part of his introduction of Steven M. Greer, the founder of The Disclosure Project, who spoke at the Tivoli Student Union on Wednesday night.

More than 400 people packed into the Turnhalle room to hear Greer talk about his efforts to collect testimony and documents from government and military officials about their knowledge and experience with UFOs and alien technology.

"Everyone wants to know, but no one wants to do something about it," Greer said.

Greer also was asking for public support for the Orion Project, in which a team of scientists and engineers will develop a device that will run on free, limitless, clean energy from space - something similar to what extraterrestrials use to power their spacecrafts, he said.

He said such a device would completely eliminate the need for fossil fuels, coal and nuclear power plants for the world's energy needs.

"We can do it, not in our lifetime but in the next couple of years," he said.

Greer also called for contact with extraterrestrials, whom he said are peaceful, and praised Peckman's effort to have a commission formed to deal with them.

Several of the people who attended the talk have followed Greer's work for years.

Candice Powers, 55, of Boulder, said she had heard nothing new at the talk but was surprised that Greer was talking more about the push to find alternative energy sources.

"I thought he was going to do a lot more with encounters with ETs," she said.

Jesus is coming back soon too. Since more people believe in God than alien life, we should set up an agency to wait for HIM instead.

    THE UFO CURSE:
No matter how long you live, you will never know any more about UFOs than you know today. You will never know any more about what UFOs really are, or where they come from. You will never know any more about what the U.S. Government really knows about UFOs than you know today. As you lie on your own death-bed you will be as mystified about UFOs as you are today. And you will remember this curse.

Now wait a minute freethought, I heard Jesus was coming soon as well. And as I understand he will divide the population into two groups, the godly righteous, and the unqualified. But first there's going to be an epic world struggle and a whole lotta sh*t involving Babylon (in Iraq). A committee is just what we need.

    == Greer-ing up for Maximum Disclosure ==

While the Denver E.T.-commission ballot initiative's certification remains "on hold" until next spring, the garnering of voters' signatures on the signature petition continues apace. The same goes for the supportive online petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/etaffai... . Indeed, the number of countries represented by those signatories continues to grow as more citizens of Earth become aware of the project.

Too many Denverites, alas, remain on the platform as the UFO-E.T.-awareness/disclosure train is chugging from the station. Come on, folks: kick the knee-jerk habit of wilful ignorance/fear/disdain and hop aboard this people's quest for greater knowledge, accountability, and enlightenment.

If there is intelligent extraterrestrial life....
If they are advanced enough to travel the vast distances between our planet and theirs.....
If they are cunning enough to disuise their comings and goings from the citizens of earth...
If they are known to only a certain few in our Governments who have kept thier secrets....
Maybe we should just let it go.

I see much ignorance here. Let's believe in a guy sitting on a cloud throwing lightning bolts but we'll laugh at the thought of beings from another world utilizing spacecraft. I guess we don't use spacecraft either. I guess we should continue to ignore the fact that much of Christianity is based on beliefs and stories from previous religions(Egyptian, Greek, Celtic). Or the fact that many important scriptures have been omitted and suppressed from the public for centuries.

Research The Disclosure Project. Will you laugh at the testimony 400 military, intelligence, airline pilots, scientists and engineers? If they were testifying to a murder, you'd take to heart. As far as the technology, research Nikola Tesla. Yes, use your independent mind. Or is that a trick of the guy with the horns and the pitchfork too?

Religion is primitive and soon to be outdated (i say in the next 500 years). I see people can take the bible word for word, but when theres evidence upon evidence upon evidence that not only we aren't alone in this universe, but also in this world they scold and laugh. Future generations will look back on this time and we will be considered primitive monkeys cause thats what most of us are in the bigger scheme of things. Christians will take the bible for face value, but when they are told that the bible is a forgery of much older texts they disclaim the "original" texts and still wait for that good loving man "jesus" to come and save us..wake up no one is gonna save us but ourselves. Not God, Not jesus, NO ONE..ourselves..

the story of adam and eve told in the bible is a childish almost offensive story that i still rack my head over that any full grown adult can believe..

but if u look at the original story which was told by Sumerian's. They get into very interesting things indeed..They say adam and eve were created by genetics and DNA manipulation, in tubes..not mud..

what makes more sense to u as an intelligent human being?

We shouldn't be concerned with these bible thumping middle Americans (or anywheres in the world) over 50 who have been brainwashed their whole lives. Most of em will be dead within a few decades and hopefully their archaic views on reality will follow them. Its the younger generations that we should be focused on...

    PS

a commission would be great. We have to show that we want to grow. They cannot interfere until we show them thats what we want.

For all the technology we possess and all the philosophy we preach. Just look around our planet and see what we are doing to it and ourselves..

The old ways are not working, and we are not as smart as we may think we are (at least we havnt matured to that level yet)

Think about your teenage kid or teenagers in general..how much older and wiser they think they are..when in fact they have much to learn before they reach that state of maturity..does it sound familiar?

Stop relying on god to save us and lets start looking at each other. If you read the ancient texts God was CREATED to instill fear and control. There is no god as religion knows it. There is no man in the sky passing judgment down on us besides the civilizations that visit us.we only have ourselves and its time we start coming together.

For all of you who are interested in the original genesis story. One steeped in science and common sense and not ridiculous children fairy tales take a look at this link..

Im not trying to put anybody down, but im just soo sick that where we are today we still have closed minded people that truly believe that the lies they have been taught is the reality our of world.

And thats why i say we dont pay focus on those people who have 10 20 years left. Let them think in the old way but for the new fresh generations..its time for a change..its time to put our parents and grandparents view on reality in the grave and its time to grow as a species to young adulthood taking the world as it really is rather than the lies that have been taught to us for 2000 years.

WE are the 'existence proof' that intelligent, space-faring biological life can exist on planets in this part of the galaxy. As Benjamin Franklin observed, "if there is one of anything in nature, there is very probably another; if another, an hundred". Since there is no comparable existence proof to demonstrate the possibility of there being "gods" in the universe, the question of which is more reasonable to believe in, UFOs or 'Religion' is has but one easy and obvious answer; ET over Elohim, hands down.

Of course, that neglects the overwhealming likelihood that Elohim - which was a plural noun in ancient Hebrew - the god of the Old Testament, actually WAS a group of Extraterrestrials, visiting in prehistoric times...
