A sexually violent predator with five previous convictions for indecent exposure was sentenced to the maximum 18 months in prison today by a judge who said she wished she could keep him in prison longer.

Timothy Schreiber, 48, was convicted in April after he exposed himself at a laundry in Wheat Ridge in March 2007.

The arrest took place less than six months after Schreiber was released from prison in another sex case.

Schreiber was declared a sexually violent predator because of his record of repeated arrests for indecent exposure and other sex offenses and his high risk to reoffend. His release from prison led to a neighborhood notification in October 2006 when he was scheduled to move into a home in the 13400 block of West 54th Avenue.

His arrests for indecent exposure date back to 1994 and his criminal record for DUI and other offenses goes back to 1980.

"There is almost no year when you weren't in violation of the law unless you were in jail already," Jefferson County District Judge Lily Oeffler said. "My concern is for the safety and integrity of the public. It appears you are unable to keep from harming the public with your alarming conduct. If I could give you longer than 18 months I would do so. You have earned every day of your sentence by your behavior."

Since Schreiber has spent more than a year in jail, he only will have to spend another couple of months in prison.

Schreiber and his defense attorney said news reports about the case have led to death threats from other inmates and he is in fear of his life. He currently is being kept in isolation at the Jefferson County Jail.

Since we can expect him to re-offend again soon, how about a picture?

I reported an incident of indecent exposure to 911 last year, and spent the better part of half an hour following the perp and waiting for police response. They never showed up :(

So yeah, I'm secretly hoping this is the guy.
