A man was found unconscious in the Poudre River in Fort Collins on Monday morning and died soon after police and firefighters took him to Medical Center of the Rockies.
A passer-by had called 911 to report seeing what looked like a body in the river near the Gateway Bridge at 640 N. College Ave., police say.
The 49-year-old victim was partly submerged, police said. The Larimer County coroner's office had not released the man's name or the cause of death.
Foul play was not suspected.
