Tuesday

Celebrity Family Feud

* 7 p.m., NBC

The show: OK, this one's weird. Cast members from The Office and American Gladiators face off, while the My Name Is Earl cast - including star Jason Lee - is split up to battle each other . . . in character. It marks the first time cast members have worked together without a script, one critic says. But one also wonders how Venom and Titan will do when they can't slam opponents with giant foam Q-tips.

Wednesday

Koppel on Discovery: The People's Republic of Capitalism

* 8 p.m., Discovery Channel

The show: Ted Koppel scrutinizes China and its economic relationship with America in the debut episode of a four-part series to be aired on successive nights. The first episode examines the connection between the two nations' economies.

Thursday

Greatest American Dog

* 7 p.m., CBS4

The show: It's too bad most dogs don't pay much attention to television - at least one dog out there could use a role model. (Got that, Mickey? Oh yeah, you don't read, either.) In the hourlong premiere, 12 dog owners and their pets move in together and compete in their first elimination challenge.

Friday

Flashpoint

* 9 p.m., CBS4

The show: Finally, an action drama not set in one or many Chicago-area bedrooms. CBS' new show features a Toronto police unit, skilled in weapons and negotiations, that specializes in emergency situations. Episode 1 involves a gunman who has killed his estranged wife and takes a hostage at an office building. Then it gets complicated. Interestingly, star Enrico Colantoni used to be in Just Shoot Me (the comedy).

Saturday

Every Second Counts

* 7 p.m., Hallmark Channel

The show: A teenage professional rodeo athlete (Magda Apanowicz) pins her hopes of being a veterinarian on her dangerous vocation, which follows her father's (Stephen Collins) dreams for her. When Dad bets on her riding skills, it makes the dilemma even more difficult.

Sunday

Miss Universe Pageant

* 8 p.m., 9News

The show: Global beauties compete in the 57th annual contest. Jerry Springer hosts from the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Even with Springer as host, it's unlikely plastic chairs will be wielded as weapons.
