DACONO A pit bull belonging to a suspected drunk driver got away Sunday after being shot and Tasered by police.
The shooting happened near Dacono after police were able to stop 32-year-old Raul Sanchez of Platteville following a chase.
The Colorado State Patrol said Sanchez got out of his car and then a pit bull jumped out of the driver's side window and charged at officers.
A Frederick police officer used a stun gun on the dog but then the animal charged at a Dacono police officer. That officer shot the dog, who then ran away.
Sanchez was arrested and taken to the Weld County jail.
