Jefferson County deputies are looking for two suspects who allegedly followed a man home, hog-tied him and robbed him, then fled in a new Cadillac, only to stop at an ATM and be caught on videotape at a King Soopers store.

A man who lives on the 6500 block of South Arbutus Circle called 911 at 7:22 p.m. Monday saying he'd been tied up and robbed at gunpoint inside his apartment.

He told deputies that when he left work at Southwest Plaza Mall he noticed a "brand-new" black Cadillac that pulled out of the same parking lot and seemed to follow him home, Jeffco Sheriff spokeswoman Jackie Kelly said.

He dismissed his fears and entered his apartment. A few minutes later, he walked his dog in the neighborhood.

But when he returned to the apartment a man with a gun and mask ordered him inside, he said.

He told deputies he was ordered to lie face-down on the floor while a second suspect came inside and began carrying out things of value.

The suspects then duct-taped his hands and feet and "hog-tied" his limbs together, the victim said.

He said the suspects warned him against calling police, so he lay still for several minutes after they left, before freeing himself and calling 911.

About an hour after the allegedly robbery, at 7 p.m., Denver police got a call from a woman at the Wells Fargo Bank at Dartmouth Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard saying she'd seen a man in a black Cadillac pull a ski mask over his face, use the ATM, take the mask off and drive away.

The man then drove to the King Soopers at 3100 S. Sheridan Blvd. where he was videotaped inside without the mask on, Kelly said. He left a few minutes later and drove away.

Denver police stopped the Cadillac, which had three people inside. The driver tried to leave the car twice, was ordered back, but then fled the scene.

Denver police chased him for a short while, but called it off because of their policy on high-speed chases, Kelly said, noting that the robbery in Jeffco hadn't yet been reported.

The suspected driver is described as white or Hispanic, in his mid-20s, about 5-feet nine-inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He had brown hair, a long-sleeved white shirt, blue jeans and white Puma tennis shoes with silver trim.

The second suspect was wearing baggy blue jeans with yellow and red embroidered pockets and white-and-black "skater" shoes, possibly Vans.

The car appears to be a black 2009 Cadillac CTS-V with chrome around the windows. The license plate is LNGLGS, and was stolen from a car in Aurora, Kelly said.

Anyone with information should call the Jeffco Sheriff tipline at 303-271-5612.

I came across this article while surfing for video related stories and I would like to extend a professional opinion, as well as advice to your readers. The picture quality isn't exactly the best, and when a crime is involved you need the absolute best video possible. There are times where it's the difference between life and death. In this instance the report is that the car "appears to be" rather than being reported as a definitive make & model. I own 24-7 Security Inc. on the East Coast, so please think this is spam when I post the link to our Buyer's Guide. It's very informative and can aid you in finding a quality surveillance system through one of your local vendors. Colorado has many excellent security providers to choose from.
