PENNY: Redford makes an e-mail pitch for Udall

If you're a woman "of a certain age" and you get an e-mail from Hollywood hunk Robert Redford, pay attention. That was PR princess Wendy Aiello's reaction last week when she received the cyberspace message from the actor asking her to donate to Congressman Mark Udall's senatorial campaign.
"I'll tell you, it was fun to open e-mails and see one from Robert Redford," Aiello told me when she forwarded the pitch from the Sundance Kid. "I hope I have a Redford sighting at the Democratic National Convention. I'll be looking for him."
The e-mail missive was sent to roughly 50,000 registered voters, according to Udall spokeswoman Tara Trujillo.
"(Redford) came out to campaign for the congressman in 1998," Trujillo said about the10-year friendship between the actor and Udall. "They share concerns for the environment and renewable energy in common. They both care deeply about Colorado."
In 2000, Redford made some phone calls supporting Udall's run for the U.S. House of Representatives. "Some women saved that voice mail for such a long period of time," Trujillo said. "Some accidentally erased the voice mail and called our office back to see if (Redford) could re-record the voice mail."
PARTY POLITICS: In the July 7 issue of Newsweek magazine, Democratic National Convention party watcher and reporter April Yee says that Elway's in the Ritz-Carlton will be the place to party with the pols at the DNC.
Convenient for DNC-goers, sure, but the Dems and Elway's make strange political bedfellows. Let us not forget that the Broncos Hall-of-Famer is a die-hard Republican, who has been approached by the GOP to run for office.
PRYCED RIGHT: Former-Broncos-bruiser-turned-Baltimore-Ravens-defensive-tackle Trevor Pryce and his family are replanting roots in Denver. According to Saturday's Rocky home-buying listings, Pryce has plunked down nearly $2 million for a house in Lowry.
His former home in Douglas County included a tricked out recording studio where he could provide technical support for bands such as Roman Candle, signed to Pryce's Outlook Records label.
AFTERNOON GLO: Gloria Neal, one of my fave rave DJs, will co-host The Ride Home with Dave Logan starting at 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday on KOA-AM (850). The Morning Glo has been searching for a radio gig since she got the boot from Sassy radio when the station yanked its female-friendly format. More about what Neal's been up to at gloneal.com.
EAVESDROPPING on a woman talking politics at Elway's in Cherry Creek: "If McCain wins, I'm packing up and moving to Hawaii or Alaska."
Penny Parker's column appears Tuesday through Saturday. Listen to her on the Caplis and Silverman radio show between 4 and 5 p.m. Fridays on KHOW-AM (630). Call her at 303-954-5224 or e-mail park erp@RockyMountainNews.com.

I wonder if Redford would be stumping for Udall if he knew that Udall refuses to obey his oath's requirement to protect our US Constitution.
Udall refuses to even discuss holding impeachment hearings.
In spite of hundreds of well known usurpations of power and other crimes by Bush and Cheney, Udall refuses to hold impeachment hearings. He prefers to just run out the clock until Bush and Cheney leave Washington.
If a Federal Office holder such as Udall refuses to honor his oath of office, is it legal for him to continue in office? Is it legal for Udall to take the oath of office as a Senator if he knows in advance he will not obey either the oath's requirement to protect the Constitution or the Constitution's requirement to impeach?
Tell us what you think?

Redford is one of the biggest hypocrites in a field of environmental hypocrites. He bought his little piece of heaven, Sundance. Now he wants all development stopped. Why doesn't he use his wealth and influence to return Sundance to its natural splendor? He is right up there with the Kennedys and their efforts to stop and off shore wind farm because it is in view of their Hyannisport estate. I give you the American Royalty, the Kennedys and self important Hollywood actors. Do as I say not as I do.
