For the second year in a row, former Broncos offensive lineman Gary Zimmerman is among the 17 finalists for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Joining Zimmerman among the 17 is former Broncos linebacker Randy Gradishar.

From the 17 candidates, a minimum of four candidates and a maximum of seven can be chosen for induction. To be elected, a finalist must receive a minimum of 80 percent of the 44 votes. They will be considered for election Feb. 2, the day before the Super Bowl.

The other finalists from the modern era are receivers Cris Carter, Art Monk and Andre Reed; safety Darrell Green; defensive ends Fred Dean and Richard Dent; linebackers Derrick Thomas and Andre Tippett; guards Russ Grimm, Bob Kuechenberg and Randall McDaniel; and punter Ray Guy. The contributor finalist is former commissioner Paul Tagliabue. And the Senior Committee nominees, announced in August, are running back Marshall Goldberg and cornerback Emmitt Thomas.

Good luck to Zim and Gradishar. Having only 1 Bronco in the HOF after 47 years is a joke! Go Broncos!

Lots of people will be bummed if Zim gets elected, then goes in as a Minnesota Viking.

Looking at the list of other finalist most are from the east. The east coast snub will screw Randy & Gary again.

Forget the "East Coast snub"-where's the mention of Randy in the headline? And he barely gets a mention in the second paragraph? We expect the snubs from the "East Coast" sportswriters-but shouldn't we expect a little more from the Rocky Mountain News?

    Good luck Randy and Gary!!
