HEY, BABY
Rep. Debbie Stafford looked like a natural holding the baby.
"I just had my 16th grandchild the week of Christmas - six biological, 10 adopted through creative means - so I love being a grandmother," said Stafford, D-Aurora.
Stafford took 8-month-old Morgan Baker to the podium of the House chambers to introduce her and her family.
The adorable baby was visiting the Capitol with her mother for Cyber Schools' Day.
PEACE PRAISE
Nobel Peace Laureate Adolfo Perez Esquivel will be at the state Capitol today.
Esquivel, an architect and sculptor by profession, received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1980 for his work for human rights and democracy in Latin America.
Lawmakers will consider a joint resolution honoring Esquivel and PeaceJam, a local nonprofit that unites Nobel Peace Prize winners with youths to "inspire a new generation of peacemakers."
ARE YOU THERE?
Sometimes, the answer is under your nose.
"Is Jery Payne in the building?" asked Rep. Gwyn Green, D-Golden.
"Yes,' answered Payne, a staffer in the Office of Legislative Legal Services, who was sitting immediately in front of Green.
"There he is, right in front of me," said Green, looking just a little embarrassed.
