Daniels Fund OKs 1st-quarter grants

The Daniels Fund approved $8.2 million in first-quarter grants for organizations "that face increasing demands for services during uncertain economic times."
Among the recipients: Addiction Treatment Center of Longmont, Boulder County Advocates for Transitional Housing, Colorado Succeeds, Colorado UpLift, Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley, Seniors Incorporated and the Women's Bean Project.
The Daniels Fund expects to give out an estimated $38 million in grants and $12 million in college scholarships in 2008.
