* The Credit Union Association of Colorado and Credit Union Association of Wyoming promoted Michael O'Neill to director of member services.

* The Group Inc. of Fort Collins added Matt Thompson as a broker associate/partner.

* Colorado State Bank and Trust appointed Darla Daniel as assistant vice president and personal trust officer in the Private Bank and Trust Department, Billy Giunta as assistant vice president in the Security Department and Christina Martinez as assistant vice president and branch manager of the City Center branch.

* The Denver Scholarship Foundation hired Myles Mendoza as director of development and Rana Tarkenton as director of outreach services.

* Renaissance Adventure Guides, a Denver-based adventure travel firm, won the $20,000 top award from Denver's Making the Brand 2008.

* The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs will offer a sports management major starting with the fall semester. The program will be housed in the College of Business.

* The Colorado Tourism Office received five top awards at the 51st annual Adrian Awards gala, which is organized by Hospitality Marketing & Sales Association International.

* Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. hired engineer Eric Lee for its Denver office.

* Roots & Branches Foundation, a grant-making initiative of Rose Community Foundation, awarded $94,570 in grants to nine projects that directly benefit 25- to 40-year-old Jews by involving them in new and innovative Jewish activities.

* The National Association of Home Builders has named Southshore in southeast Aurora as its "National Masterplanned Community of the Year."

* Angela Miles joined the Kentwood Cos. as director of marketing.

* RE/MAX Mountain States Region named James T. Wanzeck, broker/co-owner of RE/MAX Masters Inc. in Greenwood Village, as its Broker/ Owner of the Year for 2007.

* Adolfson & Peterson Construction's Colorado office appointed Eric Kimmelshue as senior project manager, Joe Bedford as MEP coordinator and Laura Kingfisher as estimator.

* Poudre Valley Hospital won the American Nurses Association's highest award for sustained overall excellence in nursing quality.

* John Poate, Colorado School of Mines' vice president for research and technology transfer, joined the inaugural class of fellows for the Materials Research Society.
