Rep. Bob Gardner served as the El Paso County Republican Party chairman in the mid-1990s and has volunteered on several political campaigns.
"I don't always win by any means, but I always believe in the candidates I'm working for," he said.
Gardner graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1976, and retired from the military in 1989 as a judge advocate general. He now is in private practice, specializing in government contract law.
Gardner, of Colorado Springs, has served in the House since 2007. His interests include victims' rights and securing more money for services for the developmentally disabled.
Gardner, 54, and his wife, LeAnn, have two children, Bob Jr., 25, and Laura, 19.
Today's portrait is one in a series featuring Colorado lawmakers.
