The first-ever University of Colorado-West Virginia football game will be at Folsom Field at 6:30 p.m. (MDT) on Sept. 18, giving CU its first nationally televised Thursday night ESPN contest since the Buffs defeated Stanford 21-17 in 1990, the year CU shared the national championship with Georgia Tech.

The non-conference schedule now affords the Buffs extra preparation time between their Sept. 6 game against Eastern Washington in Boulder and the Mountaineers’ visit 12 days later. Also, CU gets an extra two days of work before traveling to Jacksonville, Fla., on Sept. 27 to play Florida State.

The Buffs, who made nine national television appearances (11 overall) in 2007, open the season against Colorado State on Aug. 30 in Denver.
