Josh Fogg was the Rockies' starting pitcher in Game 3 of the World Series.
The representatives of right-handed pitcher Josh Fogg went into the offseason with expectations of a multi-year contract.
When spring training opened last week, however, Fogg was at home in Florida, and reality began to set in.
Now, Fogg is set to join the Cincinnati Reds on a one-year deal with a base salary of $1 million, according to a source, although Reds general manager Wayne Krivsky said Wednesday, "We have not signed anything."
Fogg provided the Rockies with a solid fifth starter the past two seasons, and the team had indicated a willingess to re-sign him to a one-year deal worth $5 million. But as late as the winter meetings in December, the Rockies were told Fogg wasn't interested in that short of a deal.
As a result, the Rockies went for quantity as they sought insurance for the fifth starter spot if left-hander Franklin Morales doesn't win the job.
They signed right-handed pitchers Kip Wells ($3.1 million guarantee) and Josh Towers ($400,000 guarantee) and lefty Mark Redman ($1 million guarantee).
