It's a tradition and a spectacle.
The annual 9News Parade of Lights starts the second of its two-night run at 6 Saturday near the City and County Building in downtown Denver.
Tens of thousands of people on Friday evening jammed the two-mile route for the traditional Denver kickoff to the holiday season.
Tu Nguyen, 18, sat on the shoulders of a friend, Joe Ngo, 18, to get a better view.
"It's the Christmas spirit," she said, as she took photos from her perch.
"I just love seeing all the lights."
The parade features eight high school marching bands, dancers as well as a variety of performing groups, floats, and four huge balloons, including Dennis the Menace, which is new this year.
