Nuggets report: Perceived loyalty

Nuggets coach George Karl said Wednesday on ESPN's Pardon the Interruption he believes Pistons general manager Joe Dumars and Chauncey Billups might have had an arrangement that if the guard ever was dealt, it would be to Denver.
"It's a philosophical interpretation on my part," Karl said Thursday. "I have no inside information."
Karl said chats with Billups during the summer and observing the Pistons led to his "hunch."
"We had some conversations," Billups said of Dumars. "And that is something that we talked about."
WONDERING WHY
Karl was stunned when Toronto fired coach Sam Mitchell on Wednesday, a day after a 39-point loss to the Nuggets.
"I don't know what happened in Toronto, but it falls in that category of coaches are losing their territory, pretty much," Karl said.
The Raptors are coming off consecutive playoff appearances.
"It keeps amazing me that coaching does not have as much value to an organization or a team as I think it does," Karl said. "I'm just becoming an old dinosaur that thinks coaching is pretty . . . important."

Coaching?? Well George why not go and get yourself a technical last night when your team is getting abused by the flopping Spurs?? Teams seem to respond when their coach shows anger and dis-pleasure with what is going on in the game. Maybe even get yourself kicked out of the game. Geez...the team needed some kind of fire under there butt last night. Another reason George needs to go.
