Smashburger on Tuesday announced two agreements to expand the Denver-based fast-casual burger restaurant into new terrain including Oklahoma and the Western Slope.
Smashburger said it signed its second franchise agreement with Aerios LLC, which operates some 30 other franchises including Subway and Dairy Queen, to open new stores in South Dakota and Kansas City, Mo., as well as Western Slope communities such as Rifle, Steamboat and Durango.
Separately, Smashburger said it signed its first joint venture agreement with WTO Acquisition, a group of real estate developers and a franchise operator. WTO plans to build restaurants in Wichita, Kan., and several Oklahoma cities.
