— Kathryn Chandler drove three hours from Victor to see Barack Obama.

But she doesn't have a ticket. Instead, she has spent about an hour holding a sign, asking for two tickets for $200.

"C'mon, guys, you don't really want to go," she yells at folks in line.

She said she tried to get tickets when they were offered, and spent six hours calling from her rooftop - the only place she gets cell phone service, she said.

Chandler isn't the only one. Here and there, desperate souls are walking the line to the security gates, plaintively yelling "tickets?"

The market for the tickets was fluid. Some people scoffed at paying more than $20.

Jay Straker, of Denver, said he offered a scalper $40 for one ticket, and was laughed at. He believed the scalper wanted $200.

A group of scalpers working the area of Federal and Dick Connor was offering $80 for tickets they wanted to resell. Down the block, tickets were being offered for $150.

One scalper, who declined to give his name, said he sold several in the parking lot of a restaurant on Federal. He said the most he got was $60.

Two tickets for sale, 50-cents apiece or 25-cents for the pair.
