A group of PUMAs chant in support of Hillary Clinton today at the 16th Street Mall, drawing indignate protests from Barack Obama supporters passing by.
16TH STREET MALL -- Chanting "I own my vote" and "elected, not selected" a group of about a half-dozen Hillary Clinton supporters rallied this morning at a busy downtown street corner.
The group seemed to draw more condemnation from passersby then the group of John McCain supporters who took the PUMAs' place after the women moved on.
Wearing bright orange shirts and hats festooned with Hillary Clinton buttons and stickers, the group of PUMAs converged at the corner of 16th and Lawrence streets.
Their chanting riled up several passersby.
Wearing a Barack Obama button on his shirt, Tim Tribbet, 38, of Denver stopped on his bike to confront the women.
"You guys going to vote for the war monger?" Tribbet said. "You going to vote for McCain?"
The women chanted louder in response.
"Are they really going to ignore the popular vote?" retorted PUMA Marie Peacock of Santa Cruz, Calif.
Peacock was hesitant to give her name at first, claiming that Obama supporters had been tracking down PUMAs whose names appeared in print, posting their address and phone numbers on the blogosphere.
The PUMA PAC, or the People United Means Action political action committee, was founded by Clinton supporter Darragh Murphy after Obama was officially slated as the Democratic party's nominee, drawing the ire of thousands of die-hard Clinton loyalists.
"Obama has more baggage than Paris Hilton," Peacock said. "The gloves are off Aug. 28."

Ladies, she wasn't elected OR selected. Get over it.
Wow, imagine if a group of Kerry supporters did this after the 2004 elections. This is just as pointless.
And SimpleMind-I agree wholeheartedly.

According to yesterdays Rocky, PUMA is an acronym for "Party Unity My A**". Little more coarse.

Clinton supporters you should realise by now that the annointment of Obama is going to happen no matter what. That your voice is going to quieted and your vote never counted.
The extreme left has taken over the once liberal party of democrats. It no longer has reason or choice. What you have is we will tell you how to think, live, breath, work. We will tell you what you can eat, and what you can drive. You no longer matter as individuals but onbly as mindless drones to do as we say.
