Detectives were on the scene of a shooting this evening in North Denver that left one man seriously wounded.

The victim, whose identity was not available, was taken to St. Anthony's Central Hospital where his condition was not known.

Detailed information about the incident also was not available, but detective John White, police spokesman, said officers received a call of gunfire about 6:20 p.m. in the 3300 block of West 36th Avenue. When they arrived at a home they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. No one is in custody, and detectives were trying to sort out what happened.

The shooting occurred about a half mile from where a robbery at an AutoZone occurred on Tuesday night. Assailants stabbed a victim in the heist.

Drug deal? Robbery? Random act? What was this? It was barely on the TV news, and only 3 or 4 short paragraphs in the paper. A little more information would be helpful, especially to the people in the neighborhood. The Denver Post reports that an "extensive" and "massive" manhunt is underway.

Why is this important? Is has nothing to do with the DNC, so the paper isn't interested.

It's 3:00PM on Thursday- almost 20 hours since this happened- so where is the story? This was an Adams county prosecutor who was murdered outside his home by a killer who is still at large. The Post has had the story up since this morning:

This is by far the most newsworthy thing that has happened in Denver since last night, and you guys have completely missed it. You couldn't spare a single DNC reporter to drive 5 minutes away and get the story? Give up. It's time to shut down the Rocky. Pathetic.
