BRIGHTON AND 44TH -- A massive group of at least 2,000 chanting, shouting, sign-waving protesters are marching down Brighton Boulevard escorted by police in what is easily the largest such protest Denver has seen during this convention.

Employees at the Coors Field reportedly were told after 4 p.m. to evacuate because a protest was approaching.

The march, organized in conjunction with a free Rage Against the Machine-headlined music festival at the Denver Coliseum, is cosponsored by Iraq Veterans Against the War and Tent State University.

About 50 Iraq veterans are leading the march to the Pepsi Center, followed by thousands of mostly young protesters carrying signs denouncing the war. More protesters continue to stream from the coliseum, where nearly 10,000 watched Rage urge them to join the march.

If you are against this war to save American lives, then you should support it. Protesting only gives the opposition hope, then power. It happened in Vietnam and it happened in Iraq.

Nice to see there are so many friendly viewpoints on here. I, for one, wish that I could be there, marching in step. For MY views, MY ideals, MY future. MY America.

End the war. Move forward with change and let us all live in peace.

I don't care what hateful things any of you have to say in response.

Stereotyping political parties is like racial stereotyping... You take the extremes of each side and exploit them. If you are die hard one way or the other... you really don't pay attention much. You can't package ideas and sell them to the masses. Democrat or Republican? It's like eating at McDonald's everyday and ordering by number... it's just not healthy.

Come on you guys (and gals) this is the right those young men, and women, are fighting for. protest all. State your opinions. fight for what you believe in. back it up with facts please. interview men and women over there. get there opinions b4 you condemn them to hell. BTW this is much better then late 60- early 70's when we blamed the military folks for doing there job. I will leave my true opinions to my-self but i def support my troops being a ex one.

Other than that, yeah, let the peaceful protesters march.

MTS, Pretty funny yes........ a bit sad also. Our project teams were not scheduled or re-scheduled at Downtown Locals to other times during the Convention for their safety.

Most hope that everything will be peaceful and all will get to enjoy their day today, but definately would not put any employees in the middle of it all. They come first

The vets in this group have been there, they watched as others died and people were torn from their lives. The un-educated war mongering bafoons that like to pipe in with garbage at every chance should listen and then read some facts, NOT press releases from political parties, and then make an informed decision. Not just jump in ready to label others and point fingers. I was there and proud of it. I can say that these are not hate mongers nor are they extremeist. Just people that care about their country, their neighbors, and most importantly their rights. Which in case you haven't kept up with the current situation the Bush Regime has almost completely and wholy destroyed.

the nerve of these people. protesting is SOOOO anti-american. don't they know that our crippled economy, disastrous foreign policy, and strained military will all change if we just continue to behave, keep quiet, and swallow the GOP line? historically change comes from watching tv, arguing over message boards, and succumbing to indoctrination, not actually doing something. duh.

There's where you are mistaken, my boy ... For it is my dear son George Bush, Jr who said he was instructed by God to invade Iraq. That's what I call killing in the name of Christianity.

Fie! Perish the thought my child. For we Republicans live to bring on Armageddon.

Don't believe me? Why, here is a photo of myself with the Taliban whom I armed and whose activities I said were the "moral equivalent of our Founding Fathers":
