Is the Avalanche better with Joe Sakic on the team?
Peter Forsberg, the Avalanche's only remaining unsigned free agent, still is attempting to solve the foot problem that has been the root of his health troubles in recent seasons.
"Peter still has this foot issue," Don Baizley, Forsberg's agent, said Wednesday. "He has to have that resolved before anything is going to develop on that front. There's nothing new on that score at the moment.
"Peter has done some skating and he wants to play, but only if the foot is right."
Swedish newspaper Expressen reported earlier this summer that Forsberg would need several months of rehabilitation for a chance to salvage his NHL career.
The newspaper quoted Forsberg, 35, as saying he probably wouldn't be available to play before Christmas.

Forsberg is one the best all-around players ever ... maybe the "best player to never make the record books."
I'd buy a DVD that's a Forsberg highlight reel. He has done some magical stuff on ice.
- And the Avalanche should pass on bringing him back again.

Yeah, sad but true. One of my favorite athletes of all time, but can he ever stay healthy?

I agree. He's one of the best of all time. It's just sad that injuries ruined his career.
