GOP CONTROL

U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Wis., pulled out a pack of condoms at Wisconsin's delegate breakfast Tuesday at the Denver Marriott City Center.

"I'm protecting myself against John McCain," she said, drawing laughter from the 104 delegates there.

Moore said the Arizona senator twice has voted against mandating that insurance companies cover female birth control.

Critics say many of those same companies cover Viagra for men.

"He needs it," joked Wisconsin state Sen. Lena Taylor. "His wife looks a little young."

AS OPPOSED TO OATMEAL

$7 is the cost of a to-go breakfast of coffee, juice, pastry and fruit for busy delegates at the Warwick Hotel.

TWO'S COMPANY

Jennifer Clark, Alabama's only openly gay delegate, beat out another political pro for slot - who happened to be her partner, Alabama state Rep. Patricia Todd.

No hard feelings - both are at the convention to root for Obama.
