— The Iowa delegation is a small, but mighty group. Many of the 57 delegates have met Sen. Barack Obama in person, as well as Sen. Hillary Clinton and Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden. That's the beauty of coming from a state that kicks off the democratic primary season every year.

Delegate Nancy Bobo from Des Moines, signed up to volunteer for the Obama campaign before they even opened their Iowa office because she was impressed when Obama spoke at the 2004 DNC. She called Michele Obama's speech last night "phenomenal." She has met Michele Obama in intimate groups several times and her message has been consistent from the beginning, she said.

Iowans were also pleased to see a former Republican congressman from Iowa, Jim Leach, speak out in support of Obama last night. Delegate Molly Grady, of Marshalltown, was not surprised to see a Republican on Obama's side. "I've talked to a lot of Republicans who like Obama and want to vote for him," she said.

Sen. Tom Harkin also graced the stage for Iowa, along with Obama volunteer Candi Schmeider.
