Hillary marchers: 'We want the roll call!'

11:55 a.m – SPEER BOULEVARD AND COLFAX AVENUE -- Several hundred Hillary Clinton supporters marched down Colfax Avenue waving signs and chanting loudly to demand she get a full roll call vote at convention. Their loudest chant was “18 million voices! We want the roll call!”

Marcher Fraci Candelin of Glenwood Springs said she made the trip to Denver because she was outraged by the way Clinton was portrayed in the media during her historic presidential run. “We want the Democratic Party to take sexism as seriously as they take racism,” Candlin said. She and other marchers said it’s unlikely they’ll support Barack Obama in November, although many of them are still waiting to see what Clinton tells delegates during a prime time speech tonight.

Kathlyn King , 61, of Garfield County, said she expects Clinton to call for unity with Obama, as expected, but that might not satisfy Clinton backers like her.

“She has an obligation to the Democratic Party. It’s expected she’d say nice things. If they hung her out to dry when she was a candidate, what do you think they’d do if she’s not a good girl now?”

The protesters were peaceful, but very, very loud as they made their way along Speer Boulevard toward the Pepsi Center.

I want to thank the city of Denver and especially, the Police Department for their hospitality during our stay and while we marched. Although we did not see our dream realized, I came away with fond memories of the time spent in your great city. Thanks again, Denver!
