GREENWOOD VILLAGE -- Seven Guam delegates, all clad their uniform-of-the-day red polo shirts, rode the light rail into downtown Denver this morning eager to hear from Hillary Clinton tonight at the Democratic National Convention.
They had all voted earlier this year for Clinton over Barack Obama in an election decided by seven votes in a recount.
"Hillary was a favorite because Hillary took the time to visit us," said Becky Lujan, referring to a brief stopover the former first lady made in Guam when her husband was president. "Still all of Guam's Democrats are extremely excited and pleased to support the candidacy of Barack Obama."
Several of the Guam delegates had been hopeful that Obama would pick Clinton as his vice-presidential running mate, but are satisfied with the selection of Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del.
"If he (Obama) would have picked another woman, I would have defected immediately," said first-time delegate Derick Hills, 20, as the other delegates nodded in agreement.
