Graham Nash and David Crosby do a sound check at the Temple Buell Theater for an Etown performance. Etown will present an historic performance which will honor Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as an "E-chievemment award winner. Performers will be David Crosby and Graham Nash, Ani DiFranco, Irma Thomas and Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine.
TEMPLE BUELL THEATRE — Etown continues to gear up for its show tonight, with Graham Nash and David Crosby doing a long, meticulous sound check on some political songs and some gentle CSN favorites — we're not going to reveal any titles here so as not to spoil it for the crowd that'll fill the sold-out theater in a couple of hours.
Suffice to say no one's going to go home disappointed.
If you're a ticket-holder, prepare for a long evening. Etown radio show tapings are usually fairly quick and efficient, but with so many performers on the bill tonight the taping is scheduled to run from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
At 6:20 p.m., James Taylor is onstage doing his sound check, with Crosby adding some backing vocals. Etown co-founder Nick Forster is helping out on harmonies and guitar; he also plays pedal steel during the Crosby-Nash set. DNC madness may reign outside, but in here it's a mellow vibe and easy times.
Check back for an exclusive Graham Nash interview.
Update: JT is getting full backing vocals from Crosby, Nash and Etown's Helen Forster on one of his classic songs. It sounds incredible.

It is going to be very interesting to hear how Crosby, Nash handle this. On Leno following 911 they were on the same show as John Mc Cain. They were correctly generous and respectfull while talking to Mc Cain. They spoke of how they honored his service and his sacrafice etc. How they were "fighting to get the Boys home in their own way". If they come out tonight and backpeddle on this I will loose 30 years of respect instantly. My advice, Sing your songs. Do your part to stop the War but leave Mc Cain alone. Leave those attacks for others.
