Colorado's Democratic members of Congress will speak alongside former Vice President Al Gore, Gov. Bill Ritter and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine the same night Sen. Barack Obama accepts his party's nomination at Invesco Field, organizers announced today.
Ritter will kick off the final night of the Democratic National Convention, welcoming the roughly 75,000 people - more than half of them Coloradans - who snagged tickets to the speech.
He will be followed by Reps. Ed Perlmutter, John Salazar, Diana DeGette and Mark Udall, who is running for the U.S. Senate.
Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean will then take the stage. He will be followed by Kaine, whose name was left off earlier lists of speakers, fueling speculation that he would be Obama's running mate.
That job instead went to Sen. Joe Biden, who will be the primetime speaker tomorrow night.
Gore will take the stage Thursday before Sen. Dick Durbin, Illinois' senior senator, who will introduce Obama.
The campaign also will show a video about Obama before his speech.
"Obama will communicate the urgency of the moment, highlight the struggles Americans are facing and call on Americans to come together to change the course of our nation," according to a press release.
The program starts Thursday at 5 p.m. and will wrap up by 9 p.m.

Mark Udall does not deserve a prime time spot at the convention! He is going to fail miserably. He is a horrible debater, and a horrible speaker. Seriously, what is the DNC thinking?! If the Dems are supposedly all about “the worker” this year, Mark Udall is the worse person they could have speak. He is and anti-worker with his support of the card-check bill (aka EFCA).

Yup COSkier. Not only does Udall support EFCA, but Obama does as well! Per Michelle Obama’s speech last night, Obama is fighting for the working class this election. However, with the support of the Employee Free Choice Act, he seems to only be fighting for union bosses and their campaign donations, not the working class citizen.

Udall definitely doesn't deserve a final night spot. He will just roll out the same lines about cautious advancement of our energy policy, how all of our problems can be solved with bipartisan action, and other milquetoast platitudes. He will do this while avoiding mentioning his big labor allegiances that have "convinced" him to vote for the Employee Free Choice Act.
