The Boss, Bon Jovi headed for Obama's acceptance speech at Invesco Field

The Jersey boys are coming, and we ain't talking about Frankie Valli. The Boss and Bon Jovi are ready to perform.

Multiple sources confirmed to the Rocky that Jon Bon Jovi will fly in to perform two acoustic songs before Sen. Barack Obama gives his acceptance speech at Invesco Field on Thursday. After the speech, Bruce Springsteen (photo at right) will close out the night, presumably solo acoustic (E Street Band member Nils Lofgren told the Rocky last week that the band wouldn't be with Springsteen in Denver).

Springsteen's people have not returned multiple requests for comment.

I'm not surprised that Springsteen and Bon Jovi would appear at the Democrat Convention. But I'm disappointed, because they are helping elect the first genuine marxist presidential candidate (Eugene Debs was conservative by Obama standards).

Ir appears if your from the entertainment sector, you automatically support Obama. Otherwise, you just don't belong, I guess. The herd instinct.

But then, Obama is a fellow performer--the smiling, dissembling villain.

Is Bruce nothing more than a hypocritical John "Two Americas" Edwards with a guitar? I love Bruce's music and poetry, but his politics are immature. Hey Bruce! You wrote "Growin' Up" 35 years ago... don't you think it's time you did?

Politics aside, I don't believe I've ever met someone from New Jersey who doesn't like Springsteen. Growing up there, he was kind of a demi-god.

From a poll in Rasmussen Reports 19 days ago - "On a lighter note, Bruce is the king of rock and roll in New Jersey, according to voters. Fifty-nine percent (59%) of voters say Springsteen, who just finished a string of shows in the state in late July, is the Garden State’s king of rock and roll, while 27% of voters give that title to Jon Bon Jovi."

Umm, no. Nuclear power creates lots of pollution. Most notably the tens of thousands of tons of highly toxic radioactive waste that is stored in swimming pools onsite of nuclear plants. Its lethal for 10s of thousands of years and now our government wants to ship it all to Utah. They'll use our decaying rail system to do it, and ride thousands of tons the stuff past our houses at 2AM just hoping nothing goes wrong. The nuclear industry is pushing hard now saying it doesn't produce greenhouse gases, but simply mining the uranium and plutonium creates massive amounts. The elements exist only in small quantities in nature and getting at it is an ugly process: lots of heavy machinery burning gas and mountaintop removal casting toxins into watersheds and such. Like it or not, left or right, Bruce and the hippies were right back then in protesting nuclear power. Its not clean and its not cheap and its an accident waiting to happen. We need to focus on energy efficiency, supplemented with wind, solar and tidal power generation if we ever hope to remove the Middle Eastern yoke from our necks.

And yes, Bon Jovi is a terrible choice. Not gonna argue there. Though if JBJ flys around on a cable dressed in tiger print spandex like in that old music video, I will change my mind.

RNC with the song "Losing my Mind" as he clearly suffers
from signs of mild to moderate dementia.

Seriously, I do not know how long the Republican Party can hide this fact. I'm sure they have him on medication. But, it can not be kept a secret forever - the episodes displaying dementia are happening in more frequency. I heard last week, they took away his cell phone, thinking it would make him more focused. It will not work, because it is a disease. They can not have Lieberman or Crist by his side, every time he is questioned by a reporter. I also believe that this is why he was given the questions ahead of time before the Saddlebrook event. I think McCain might have been a Maverick years ago, but that is not the case now. I actually feel sorry for him because he definitely is not the man he once was. This disease will take it's toll. The Republican party would be endangering the security of the US to allow a candidate with this condition. But, typical of the Republicans to deny anything is wrong or to try to cover it up. I, personally do not think it will work. This is not the 1980's - Youtube is everywhere. I am
surprised the media is not reporting on it more - oh, I forgot -
we don't have real media anymore.

Hey "greenparrot", if you're taking a cheapshot at Reagan through your "1980's" comment, forget about it. He didn't suffer from any mental issues until years after he was shot. If you knew anything of "Hyrdoshock" theory, you would understand this. He was a brilliant man, and one with the Tenacity, Ambition, and Righteousness to help bring about an end to issues such as The Iranian Hostage Crisis, Qaddafi's Terrorist Threat, The Taking Down of The Berlin Wall, Repelling Communist Forces in Nicaragua, and Afghanistan, and Terrorists in Lebanon to name a Few Places, and Last But Most Certainly NOT Least, He Had a MAJOR Part in Bringing Down the ENTIRE Soviet Union. You should choose your words more carefully when you choose whom to insult, as you have taken a side-swipe at one of the Greatest Presidents in American History. You will even be hard pressed to find a Non-Socialist Democrat who doesn't at least Admire many of Ronald Reagan's Accomplishments.

"Cattletracks", I am not sure of all of the "Socialist" labelling, but the Democrat Party is currently being run by Socialists. The Party has been hijacked by the illegitimate child of the Flag-Burning, San Francisco based, 1960's bred Anarchist Movement. Barack Obama IS a Socialist, and even many within his own Party Acknowledge this (Including Hillary Clinton). I am not taking Partisan sides, this is simply a hard to acknowledge reality. For instance, here we have Obama wishing for "Universal Healthcare", but do you realize what this entails? For starters, in order to implement such an idea into reality, you need a Socialist to Far Left Communist Government. This is a necessity as creating "Universal Healthcare" requires Government Controlled Programs. Currently we receive Healthcare through Corporations, which in of itself represents Free Enterprise, AKA Capitalism, AKA The American Economic System since it's Birth. To reign such Free Enterprise in, and to Control it through the Federal Government, is to chip away at the very Capitalistic Foundation that is America. Not to mention that the current Nations with "Universal Healthcare" ARE in fact Socialist Governments, just in case you need some proof. Also, within these Nations, their Tax Rates are SKY HIGH. Try Sweden for Instance, where they have "Free Healthcare", yet their Tax Rate is over 45%. In Denmark, a Socialist Nation as Well, their Tax Rate is 60%. Do you wish to pay this much for "Free" Services? In doing so, do you not also lose serious Financial Freedom?

So yes, some might throw the term "Socialist" around in a reckless manner, but in regards to Barack Obama, he IS quite the Socialist.

Hate to break it to you truthsayer he was shot in 1981.
He served from 1980-1988. Your use of the word "several
years later" means what? Reagan showed clear signs of dementia during his second term and for the record Dementia is not caused by gun shot wounds. I do not think Reagan was a "great president", only created in the media. In fact, the most famous speech he gave (which he did not write) with the phrase "Tear down that wall" was not to be in the speech" but he forgot. It turned out to be a success. I do not credit Reagan with the fall of the Soviet Union. It happened on its own because of economic decline. And if you do not remember, when Reagan was in office, interest rates were 21-17 percent and we had the fall of the Savings & Loans. I will not go into the history of the times, as I'm sure you can read all about it. But, we live in different times. McCain's present forgetfulness is my present concern because he displays signs of dementia; it is not abnormal for his age. What is abnormal is that people voting Republican (I am a registered Republican) do not seem to care, or deny they notice it. Oh, and I meant to say, Saddleback Church - but I guarantee, I will not make that mistake repeatedly. I saw on T.V. the other night, Romney. They were asking him if he was being considered as VP. I saw him speak and talk - all I could think was "What has the Republican Party done". We have McCain as a presidential candidate that thinks Putin is president of Germany. Needless to say, I will not be voting Republican this year.

Oh, I forgot to mention. Reagan was not responsible for the release of the Iranian hostages - Carter was. Negotiations were going on for many months before Reagan took office - Carter
never said anything during his campaign because he did not want to risk the plan not working. Shortly after Reagan took office the hostages were released and "miraculously" the media and Reagan
administration took credit for the act. Not to say Carter would ever had been re elected - gas price and shortages was his downfall. That was the time in the late 70's to now, that administrations - whether republican or democratic, failed the American people by not pursuing alternative energy. All the other
conflicts you mentioned under the Reagan Administration are many of the reasons we are in the mess we are in today. Oh, I long for the Reagan years. Not. Won't even discuss Bush, because I believe everyone is in agreement there. I think both parties are a mess. I just like the music better at the DNC than the RNC (I don't care for Brooks & Dunn).
