An anti-abortion protestor disrupts a DNC Interfaith gathering at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colo., on Sunday, August 24, 2008.
Police escort a protester out of the convention center at the Faith in Action interfaith gathering Sunday, August 24, 2008.
COLORADO CONVENTION CENTER Three anti-abortion protesters have been removed in the opening moments of the DNC's interfaith gathering after shouting that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama "is a baby killer."
The men were shouted down and booed by the several hundred in attendance, who chanted "O-BA-MA" in response."
"There are people in that room that still have a conscience," said Randall Terry, founder and president of the Washington-based anti-abortion group Operation: Rescue, explaining why after the first song of the gathering he stood and shouted, "Obama supports the killing of children by abortion."
Another man shouted, "Obama is a baby killer," and a third man — Joseph Landry, who said he is affiliated with Operation: Rescue, yelled to the crowd, "You are not Christians."
"No Christian in good conscience can support a baby killer like Obama," Landry said, adding that of all the Democrats and their stances on abortion, "He's the worst we ever had."
After the eviction of the three men, the gathering has continued without incident.

Finally.
For once, something didn't need to blow up first for these wackos to be led away in cuffs.
The problem with those folks and their deaf, dumb, and blind followers is this. They don't understand freedom of choice, because they themselves have never had it. They are slaves to dogma, just like Ms. Poole. They have no ability to make moral decisions or immoral decisions. All their choices were made for them, thousands of years ago.
If freedom of choice is removed, the moral high ground is also removed. You aren't moral people. You are obedient people.
In other words, you people are no better than animals, awaiting punnishment and reward from a master.
The rest of us make moral choices because we can.

You're upset... we get it. You don't want to have a master, but you're unable to escape we're all slave to something or another. So am I. I simply prefer to be slave to something righteous and loving.
You're rationale... "All their choices were made for them thousands of years ago"... (hidden behind sarcasm) is faulted in so many ways. Murder was bad 2000 years ago, and still is today. Just because traditions are old doesn't make them outdated.
Your so-called grasp on 'moral choices' is one many people like you claim to have. The problem is, because of lack of outline, different people have different standards. To you, hopefully, a grown man having sex with a 10 year old girl is wrong. Not to others.

I believe that being a Christian is so much than being against
abortion. I believe that no one should be a war monger or
a saber rattler. No one should disrespect other human beings,
other cultures, other religious beliefs. We are not God. I am
saddened that pro-life groups can find no better way to address
this issue than to take to the streets, shouting and screaming and
causing such chaos. I am even more saddened by the pro-lifers
who have bombed abortion clinics and murdered in the name of
Christianity. Who among these protestors has worked to bring
together groups to counsel young girls and troubled women to
provide means to reduce abortions? Who has offered to take
these unwanted babies into their homes to raise? Who has
worked for better adopton facilities in this country? Who has
advocated more education about and better access to birth control?
And who among these pro-life groups is protesting
John McCain's position that abortion is acceptable if the
pregnancy is due to rape or insest? Is this not killing right on?
We need to be honest with ourselves and answer a lot of
tough questions before we disregard every good thing that
Obama represents based on this one issue.

-------
Of course, I do.
Those laws are pertinent to my life currently, in the city, state and country where I reside.
I don't follow current laws, or ancient laws of the Middle Eastern governments, do you?
Just because laws pertaining to basic human rights happen to bear some resemblance to the ten commandments, you seem to think that is some proof of the "truth of god".
Every society has such laws, and did, long before any establishment of a major religion. It has nothing at all to do with scriptural dogma, or moral/intellectual slavery. Social order is maintained by the populace, for the populace.
The fact that you live purely according to dogma, putting the secular law aside, makes you very similar to a radical muslim.
You can't justify that simply because some of the secular laws of the land happen to coincide with your moral biblical laws. Big deal.
The secular laws give us the liberty to listen to our own conscience. Mine doesn't harp about damnation if I do something morally wrong, whether its legal or not. It harps about the harm I inflicted here and now, and asks me to make amends. Your's threatens that unless you earn god's forgiveness, you'll burn. You don't have to be a good citizen. You have to be a good worshipper.
You are a slave to god, not to your own conscience. You are not an inherently moral human being. You are forced by fear to behave morally.

Finding_Forever---No one is saying you have to keep it, just don’t kill it. White religion is weak. It takes Indians to show you your history, genocide. How can you think you're exempt from your history?
If you can kill your own child, no matter how produced, you can kill anything. Indians are fearful your abortion heart will finish us off before we have an opportunity to regain this land. And you’d be the first to admit the land belongs to the Indians.
Big_D---If you want an education on abortion, just speak to an RN like Gloria. Your humanity will burst from your chest. You’ll change. And you seek change, right?
Nations with infanticide are never trusted and they never last. Infanticide never ends at just killing babies. The next targets are the very old, the disabled and the politically incorrect. Read your own histories, Sparta, Rome, Germany.
The problems of rape and incest are not the problems of the child. Why convict and execute the child?
Neil T--- Are you saying she would give birth on a blanket in the prairie with no medical assistance? Wow, that’s bad. The choice for the mother in your example is to be an eagle or a crow. That’s “choice.”

I don't take it personally, wow.
You rely on your conscience. I say your conscience is currupted, or can be currupted. That's why it, and things like 'will power' are foolish x to rely upon. You will always fail at some point or another.
The basic principle of the Bible is to love God and love people. All other 'commandments' (not just the ten) fall under that rule. People freely choose to follow them. Nobody makes them do it (outside of parents to kids).
You also have some misconceptions of Christians, I can see. There's more than one way to sell a car, and there's more than one way to practice Christianity. One doesn't speak, for all. Which leads me to your statement... " Your's threatens that unless you earn god's forgiveness, you'll burn"
You can't 'earn' your way to heaven according to the book. Also, nothing you do is outside of God's scope. So.. you can't do anything to surprise him. He knows what you're capable of. Offending him is out of the question. You ask for forgiveness because you love Him just as you would your mom or dad.
True, some people beat themselves up over large and small things. They go into depression, hurt others, etc. It's sad. Notice the common factor here. People. We're faulted and we don't always do things right.
"You are a slave to god, not to your own conscience. You are not an inherently moral human being. You are forced by fear to behave morally." Agree 100%. Fear is the most basic of feelings. If this is what motivates you initially, who cares. Eventually you would want to continue to act this way because of love, loyalty.
