PEPSI CENTER FREEDOM CAGE - The "Freedom Cage" set up outside the Pepsi Center for protesters to use is empty Sunday afternoon, giving Denver Police time to take a break and rest in the shade.
A group of three cops turns into a group of five or six seeking shelter from the sun under a tree.
They say there hasn't been much going on today. About five protesters carrying signs were there earlier but dispersed, and a few people rode bicycles into the area and rang bike bells.
The group seems to be having a good time in their grassy spot in the shade as they jokingly complain about the meals they've been eating while on the job this week. Apparently the salad they ate yesterday and the hot chicken sandwiches they had today weren't very delectable.
Not far away, eight police, piling into and holding onto the sides of a golf cart, smile as they race across the parking lot.
