Colorado Springs Utilities is asking residents near Fort Carson to be on guard after receiving reports of someone posing as a utilities worker going door to door asking for money for a bogus project.
The impostor recently approached a woman, her husband and a neighbor on Canoe Creek Drive claiming that he was collecting money to fund a water contamination cleanup in the area.
People may call 719-448-4800 to verify that a utilities worker has been sent to their home.
