Series history: The Rockies trail all-time 62-70, but have a 30-24 edge at Coors Field. Colorado swept a three-game series at Cincinnati in the only meeting between the teams this season.

Roster report: Reds shortstop Alex Gonzalez (broken left knee), outfielders Ryan Freel (right hamstring), Norris Hooper (right elbow) and Jerry Hairston (right hamstring), right-hander Jared Burton (right lat muscle) and left-hander Kent Mercker (sore lower back) are on the disabled list. . . . With the trades of outfielders Aaron Dunn and Ken Griffey, Jr., Chris Dickerson has received primary playing time in left field with Jay Bruce in right field.

Quickly: The Reds have lost 19 of their last 25 games, dropping 12 games in the NL Central standings. . . . They are 2-40 when scoring three or fewer runs. . . .
