Series history: The Rockies trail all-time 62-70, but have a 30-24 edge at Coors Field. Colorado swept a three-game series at Cincinnati in the only meeting between the teams this season.
Roster report: Reds shortstop Alex Gonzalez (broken left knee), outfielders Ryan Freel (right hamstring), Norris Hooper (right elbow) and Jerry Hairston (right hamstring), right-hander Jared Burton (right lat muscle) and left-hander Kent Mercker (sore lower back) are on the disabled list. . . . With the trades of outfielders Aaron Dunn and Ken Griffey, Jr., Chris Dickerson has received primary playing time in left field with Jay Bruce in right field.
Quickly: The Reds have lost 19 of their last 25 games, dropping 12 games in the NL Central standings. . . . They are 2-40 when scoring three or fewer runs. . . . Bruce (13 home runs) and Joey Votto (14) are the first Reds rookie combo to have 10 or more home runs in the same season since Gary Redus (17) and Nick Esasky (12) in 1983. The Reds are 24-39 on the road, going 4-8 since the All-Star break. . . . The Reds rank 12th in the NL in runs scored with 537.
